Liz Said She'd Try

Well, in the time since grad, Gerald & I have spent a buncha time tog. Mom's got this weird back & forth thing where she's all "don't be too serious" one second and then the next she's all "oh, this is an innocent crush". It's annoying, I don't even need 2 tell U. NEway, Liz told me she'd try talking to Ma about this on the way back from the airport, mayB @ least get her to remember a bit what it's like to be 14. Liz told me, "I just hope she doesn't get all TMI with me". & I said, "Liz, U R braver than I am!"

Oh, I forgot to say about the letters from my fam--don't U wish U didn't know that Iris reads porn smut erotica "bodice rippers"? I'm guessing Mom won't ask her to set up a shelf with "Iris's Interests" at the store.

    Ok I tried to remind Mom what young love is like, but I think I might have heightened her fear. She started whispering something about Bobby Curtola and a tear fell from her eye. Then she said, "Oh Bobby, Bobby you didn't even like trains". If she freaks out any more, I'll try to do some damage control.

    Mom asked me to do one of those book recommendation lists. I found the lewdest, porniest bodice rippers I could find and put them on the list. You should have seen her go white while she read it! She then said something about editing. I plan on giving Mom a little hell this summer, what is she going to do? Ground me? I don't think so. Wish me luck Apes, I miss you already.

    Hi, Apes. Hope u're having fun on the farm. I wish I could get away from my 'rents for a month too. NEway, Marjee n' I are gonna hit the bars n Toronto with the fake IDs she had made for us. They look real, with the magnetic bar on the back n everything. We can make one 4 u if u like.

    oh, i geddit! the id sez yr name is "vicki simone", is that it? good idea 2 use a diff name. the 1 u gave me 4 the plane ride looks good but i don't get 2 use it cuz of that "unaccompanied minor" label i hafta wear. mayB i'll try it out in winnipeg, tho.

    I caught Mom listening to a Bobby Curtola record a few minutes ago, and softly sobbing to herself while singing along waaaay off key. She didn't know I wasn't there. I should record the episode and store it for future blackmail purposes.

    U r correct, April. Ur cousins sound cool and like they want u to have fun while u r there, so u could use the ID. Just remember to memorize all the info, like ur date of birth and address, and the bouncers will believe u. And the black eyeliner we all got at Hot Topic a few weeks ago will make u look older.

    That's really cool, Shannon! Are u going to be in the pole vault or on the archery team?

    shannon, that's an awesome strategy! i can't believe ur in the special olympics cuz that's 1 of the smartest things i've heard in a long time.

    another idea: pretend that ape's mom is chasing u an' if she catches u she's gonna give u a hour long lecture about how come pattersons are the best.

    the farm is pretty but it lks like there'll b lotsa farmhandy kinda work. i know, duh.
